Hello Church Family,
I am writing to provide you an update on our church’s response to the Covid 19/Coronavirus pandemic. As previously mentioned, following CDC guidelines all church services on Sunday have been canceled till May 17th. However, worship will continue as we are working on online options for sermons. Expect a sermon to be posted regularly on 9:15 on Sunday mornings. They will be available on our website www.pearlandpres.com, our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/First-Presbyterian-Church-of-Pearland-142305149157804/, and our soundcloud account https://soundcloud.com/user-561464127. The session also voted last night to suspend any meetings of people on church property over 10 people. We have also put together a Coronavirus task force that will be coming up with strategies to keep our community connected in the following weeks. Please stay tuned from more information from them.
As far as giving to church please mail your offerings to:
First Presbyterian Church
2930 Broadway St, Pearland, TX 77581
We are currently working on instructions for Electronic bank drafting and other online giving options which will be available soon.
We thank you for your understanding during these difficult times. Let us remember the words of scripture, “What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all- how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who is he that condemns? Christ, Jesus, who died- more that that, who was raised to life- is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:28-39). Blessings, protection, and health to you all.
Grace and Peace,
Pastor Will Roberts

In light of the recent CDC recommendation to cancel gatherings of more than 50 people for eight weeks, First Presbyterian Church will be canceling our public Sunday gathering till May 17th. Though we are saddened by this news we know that because of Christ we can worship anywhere in Spirit and in Truth (John 4:21-24). Please check on our facebook page, website, and SoundCloud account for social media updates. Our Pastor plans to continue to preach the word of God and distribute messages online during this difficult time. May Christ’s peace and blessing be upon you all.”
